If you are not good at approaching people face to face, here are some tips to improve in this area

In building rapport with your prospects, you should pay attention to the following:

2. You should use compliments carefully.
3. You should respect personal space.
4. You should look for common ground.

- Your organizational presentation and professional habits
Be prompt in meeting with your prospect. Be prepared with your pre-approach information, have a clear agenda and always state your purpose in the beginning.

- Your Manner and Action
Don’t forget to shake hands during introduction and after presentation. Keep an eye contact during presentation. Don’t smoke or chew gum. During your presentation, you should maintain an attitude of enthusiasm.

Your grooming, clothing, accessories and posture affects first impressions of your prospects. You should, therefore, dress conservatively and appropriately, choose accessories carefully by keeping it simple and pay attention to your grooming. By working on your physical characteristics, you’re getting the prospect to take you seriously.

During your presentation your first ten words should include a form of thanks, and watch out for clich├ęs. Plan ahead and keep your presentation quite simple. Failure to prepare in advance could lead to stammering or faltering speech, either of which creates a negative impression. You must be ready to alter your prepared approach, if the situation demands it.
